For the last eight or nine years we have been hearing about a disorder that is seemingly new. This disorder is known as post traumatic stress. We hear on the news that a veteran had hurt his or her family and this disorder was the cause. We have seen the countless reports of the number of divorces that are cause by post traumatic stress. Just by reading the reports and watching the news one can conclude that this is a disorder that is cause by war. PTSD is not a diagnosis solely held by war veterans. It is a disorder can affect anyone and their families. In this paper we will discuss just what post traumatic stress is and how it affects people whether or not they have been to war. He sat down and aside from the obvious rules he had two extra ones. The first was to never wake him up by touching him. At no point in time and for reason should someone shake him to wake him up. He would say yell throw something at me but do not under a circumstance touch me. No he wasn’t a germaphobe. The second rule was if he looked like he was going to do something he probably was and the phrase by any means necessary should a very real concept to me. I thought he was joking and laughed it off. He went on to explain to me what he experience on Iraq. He then got up and said â€Å"I’ll be back later. I have to go talk to a man about why my wife has to lock me in a room at night.† He did get help and was doing well the last time I saw him. They all have these horrific stories. One of the ways people start to feel better is the realization of this experience that is causing so much anxiety is over. What happens when it never ends? As I said before war veterans have become the face of PTSD but are the only people that are diagnosed with it. I have had PTSD since 2006. I wake up worried that someone is outside my house. I can never go the same way home. People driving close to me makes me want to run them off the road.
